Fundamental
Questions: Think about the notion of a “covenant,” and consider
again two of the questions from above. First, when you think
about a “covenant” with another person, does it seem to you that
entering into a relationship with another person would destroy your
individuality, would end up obliterating what makes you, you?
Second, when you think about a covenant relationship which is lived out
in time, would the “story” of salvation history – if you took it
seriously – negate your personal story or help to give it context and
meaning? Consider this: Do you see yourself as a “consumer”
of time and opportunity? Or as a participant in a history for
which you bear responsibility?
