  On March 19, 2003 Ann Wright resigned as Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy to Mongolia because she believed the U.S. invasion of Iraq violated international law. Since then Wright has become a leading voice of U.S. government officials and military personnel at many levels who share her convictions. Wright has told their stories and hers in numerous public forums across America and in Congressional hearings and lectures.
